This series of paintings is part of an ongoing exploration of my relationship with nature and landscape. Running has become an important way in which I experience and connect with the land — moving through it on foot, feeling changes in terrain, weather, light and atmosphere, and becoming attuned to the physical rhythms of a place.

Through painting, I engage with the landscape not as a passive observer, but as an active participant. Rather than simply depicting the natural world, I aim to convey what it feels like to inhabit it: the shifting light, textures, sounds, and the quiet dialogue between self and surroundings.

Working both in the studio and directly within the landscape, I allow environmental conditions — weather, terrain and mood — to guide my materials, gestures and colour palette. The physical experience of moving through a landscape often stays with me, becoming a source of memory, sensation and inspiration within the work.

These paintings reflect my desire to express the deep sense of interconnection and impermanence that arises through being physically present in the land.
